Last week we highlighted the importance of good photos for websites. This week we want to address the importance of color! For a great example of how to use color well, check out the newly launched website for drink.well., a neighborhood cocktail bar and restaurant located in Austin
Red is a powerful accent color in design and is mainly used as a powerful and sophisticated tool. If you take a look at drink.well's website, they use a background graffiti texture with red tones as well as other various colors. This approach gives the website a fun, modern feel but still has its hint of sophistication. Once you venture through the website, you continue to see a red tone being used, which keeps the design consistent.
This Thursday we will talk about how you can choose the perfect color palette for your SpaceCraft website!

Last week we introduced you to CrossFit Dallas Central, and discussed how great images can really make a difference in your website design. This week we're going to go a little beyond design and talk about the importance of copywriting and your website's content.
Take a look at our featured client this week: Haymakers, an organization committed to helping small food business entrepreneurs succeed.
Their website is a perfect example of what good content can do for your site because of a few key techniques:
What do you like best about this website? Is there too much or too little content there for your taste? What happens when you try to write for your own company, do the muses smile upon you or do you consistently find yourself in a writer's block?

Here at SpaceCraft, we're always thinking about ways to provide the best experience available anywhere for creating and maintaining your website. One of the big difficulties web application developers face is providing legacy support for older and less capable web browsers. It's become clear to us that we can improve our product more (and more quickly) if we discontinue support for Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 in our content editing and design tools. Support for that browser will end on October 26, the day that Microsoft releases Windows 8, which will ship with Internet Explorer 10.

A few days ago, we noticed a free trial signup that was a little out of the ordinary. The website was created by a nonprofit organization for famine relief, and within a few hours of signing up, they had added a background pattern, some decorative typography, a bright green navigation bar with a dark grey header and footer, and had even customized some of their content blocks with containers and drop shadows. They'd also added colorful photos of smiling Africans and interesting information and statistics about famine. What caught our eye, though, was what they said on their "About Us" page.
